Best place to rest in Melbourne is along the seaside in St. Kilda. A short tram ride from the CBD brought me straight to the beach. Sitting on fine sand I felt I was part of a pastel impressionist painting:
The lights of the sunset coloured the city with its giant skyscrapers on the horizon. The waves of the sea rolled gentle and slowly.
The landscape was simply idyllic and the atmosphere was so peaceful that I could relax!!! :)
After wandering around Melbourne - let's take a cappuccino-break! Yes, a cup of cappuccino late in the afternoon. Why not? I know, for us Italians, it is considered sacrilegious... But who cares? I am in Melbourne: one of the world's best cities for coffee! It sounds incredible but it is true: the city even hosts an annual coffee expo. People in Melbourne seem to go crazy for coffee. In every corner you may find cafeterias, bars, shops with all sorts of coffee-drinks. My favourites are located in Carlton and along Little Bourke Street. The coffee is really great - tasty, the only disadvantage is the price: ...a bit expensive!
